Join Chicago Booth Professor Raghuram Rajan for a discussion about new pathways to research careers in the social sciences. Professor Rajan is the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth, where he researches banking, corporate finance, and economic development, especially the role finance plays in it.  He served as the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, and he was the Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund.

Please join Professor Rajan to learn about his journey as a finance faculty member, and how new trends in economics and business research have opened additional avenues for beginning researchers. Professor Rajan will both talk about the PhD process as well as the emergence of pre-doctoral research positions. There will also be a Q&A session with Professor Rajan following his presentation.

This presentation is open to students of all years. The current job opportunities will be most relevant to recent graduates and those graduating by June 2021. However, anyone interested in learning about opportunities to conduct research after graduating are encouraged to attend this unique opportunity to connect with and learn from one of the globe’s leading scholars of finance.
